Welcome to 2018! Let’s Catch Up.


Every January, it’s hard to believe a new year has arrived. Wasn’t the Davidson College class of 2021 just moving to campus? Wow. 2018 is here, and we’re ready for it.

Next week, we’ll resume posting the thoughts and experiences of students, parents, staff and faculty on the Wildcat Parents blog, but today, let’s make sure we’re all caught up on recent Davidson news. Below are five interesting things to know – just follow the links.

  1. Davidson College topped all private liberal arts colleges and ranked second only to Princeton among all colleges and universities in Kiplinger’s 300 Best College Values of 2018. Learn more here.
  2. Did you see this story and video about the soccer program at West Charlotte High School? Enjoy learning about this program and two Davidson faculty members’ leadership.
  3. A new face for football: Davidson hired Scott Abell as the football program’s new head coach. He came to Davidson from Washington & Lee University, and his start date was earlier this week.
  4. This student scholarship story illustrates the way scholarships truly change lives. Jennifer Griffin ’21 is a first-year student who knows Davidson is where she belongs.
  5. Enjoy some of the best photos taken by College Photographer Chris Record during 2017. We can’t wait to see what he captures this year.
